Inland Sofa by &Tradition

The Inland series by Torbjørn Anderssen and Espen Voll for &Tradition merges an architectural framework with exceptional comfort and style, drawing inspiration from mid-century Danish design. Initially introduced as a two- and three-seater sofa, the collection now features a lounge chair and pouf, all characterized by inviting curves and a floating effect created by steel-footed bases. The designers, known for their ability to blend modern aesthetics with traditional craftsmanship, emphasize simplicity and functionality in their work, making the Inland series a testament to contemporary Scandinavian design.

Designed by Torbjørn Anderssen and Espen Voll, the Inland series combines an architectural framework with exceptional comfort, without sacrificing style. Initially introduced as a two- and three-seater sofa, the collection has since expanded to include a sleek lounge chair and a versatile pouf. Each piece reflects the original design's inviting curves, supported by steel-footed bases that create a striking floating illusion.

Crafted with a wooden frame, the Inland series is upholstered in either fabric or leather, offering a range of textures to suit various interiors. The frame is padded with high-resilience foam, duvets, and polyester wadding, ensuring a soft and supportive seating experience. The cast aluminium legs, available in warm black powder-coated or polished finishes, add a refined, modern touch to the collection’s overall aesthetic.

The Inland series by Torbjørn Anderssen and Espen Voll draws inspiration from the clean lines, functional elegance, and minimalist aesthetics of mid-century Danish design. Characterized by its emphasis on simplicity, craftsmanship, and timelessness, mid-century Danish design focused on creating pieces that were both beautiful and practical, often using natural materials like wood and metal. The Inland series captures this spirit through its architectural framework, seamless integration of form and function, and emphasis on comfort, all while maintaining a modern sensibility. The floating effect created by the steel-footed base echoes the lightness and refined elegance that is central to mid-century Danish furniture.
