Mat Armchair

With innovation and sustainability at its core, the Mat Armchair explores new ways to reduce environmental impact in modern seating. Designed by Danish studio Foersom & Hiort-Lorenzen, this thoughtful chair is crafted from a bio-based composite of hemp and eelgrass—a tactile, natural material that defines both its aesthetics and ethics.

Developed for circularity, Mat is fully designed for disassembly and recycling, ensuring that each component can be reused in future productions. The collection features dining chairs, barstools, bar chairs, and armchairs in two heights, available with a hemp-only shell or one blended with eelgrass. All models can be finished with front or full upholstery.

Bases come in powder-coated steel (Black or Cream) or natural beech wood. This modularity makes the Mat Chair adaptable for restaurants, schools, hotels, or private homes—blending sustainability with timeless Scandinavian design.
